Veterinarian
Holistic Veterinary Healing (HVH) in Germantown, MD, is in search of a full or part-time veterinarian to join our growing practice. We are one of the first integrative practices to achieve American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) certification, and many of our staff members are also Fear Free certified. HVH treats companion animals (dogs and cats), and we are team-oriented to provide compassionate care for our patients and clients. The veterinarian we are seeking is licensed in Maryland and is either certified or willing to get certified in veterinary acupuncture and other alternative therapy modalities (i.e. homeopathy, ozone therapy, chiropractic care, herbal medicine, energy work, etc.).
HVH offers full-service integrative care where we view each patient as a whole and focus on the root cause of disease for projected long-term healing. This includes dental and surgical care, chiropractic, acupuncture, nutraceuticals, Chinese and Western herbs, and homeopathic medicine. The clinic owner has over 39 years of holistic experience and is looking forward to sharing cases with an associate.
We are equipped to perform full dental work utilizing our panoramic dental x-ray machine and dental equipment. We have a full surgical suite and in-house lab as well as digital radiology. We offer multiple types of ozone therapy, food therapy, chiropractic adjustments, and laser therapy.
HVH refers after-hour emergencies to local and highly respected emergency hospitals.

Veterinary Technician
The Veterinary Technician we are looking for is skilled, compassionate, reliable, friendly, and knowledgeable. This position requires a working knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs, and common diseases including their symptoms, means of transmission, treatment, and prevention, and a willingness to learn the various holistic modalities, treatments, and other basic preventative supplements and procedures that we offer.
Job Requirements
- Assist in taking x-rays and ultrasounds, and forwarding to the radiologist
- Assist with dental procedures and surgeries including anesthesia monitoring and monitoring of patients
- Draw blood and place catheters
- Express anal glands, give injections and sub-Q fluids, microchip, and perform other routine procedures
- Maintain patient medical records
- Make medical call-backs as needed
- Organize, label, and restock supplies
- Ozone and fluid therapy
- Prepare and label medications to be sent home with the patient and teach clients how to administer them
- Prepare blood, urine, and fecal samples for in-house testing (Idexx and Truforma) and for submission to offsite laboratories
- Prepare surgical suite and prepare patients for surgery
- Provide basic education on animal care, nutrition, and medical conditions
- Recommend products for optimal wellness, such as vitamins, supplements, dental cleaning, flea control, geriatric care, and dietary measures
- Record case history and vitals
- Regularly sterilize instruments and equipment
- Restrain and stabilize animals during examination and treatment
- Train new employees
- Other duties as assigned
This is a full-time position of 4 days or 5 days per week. The hours of work and days will vary from Monday through

Veterinary Receptionist
outgoing, easy going, competent, and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our growing practice. HVH is a team-oriented environment which provides compassionate care to our patients and clients.
The Receptionist is responsible for making our clients feel welcome, answering phones, making appointments, and
checking clients out after their appointment with one of the Veterinarians or Veterinary Technicians. The essential functions are as follows:
- Answer phones, make appointments, check out clients.
- Prepare and label medications to be sent home with the patient.
- Teach clients how to administer medication at home.
- Maintain animal records and billing information.
- Organize, label, and restock supplies, medications, and retail products.
- Retrieve the mail and prepare and send packages.
- Refill refreshments stand and maintain an orderly reception area.
- Fill prescription re-orders and prepare invoices.
- Other duties as assigned.
General computer skills are required, i.e. proficiency in Microsoft Office, use of the internet, experience with practice management software, and email/texting.
We are looking for someone with some college and at least two years of veterinary experience who loves animals and is a good communicator, flexible, detail-oriented, computer savvy, and interested in holistic treatments. Each member of the team is expected to wear scrubs and maintain a neat professional appearance.
This is a full-time position of 4 days or 5 days per week. The hours of work and days will vary from Monday through
